I'm pleased to advise that further to our invitation to vote on the proposed By Law Amendments at the Chapter Meeting held on 30th May, the Members voted 24 to 11 in favour of an amended Motion.
Motion as presented for vote:
“These By-laws and amendments to these By-laws must be ratified by 75% of the Chapter Board present at a scheduled Board meeting and must be ratified by a majority of the membership present at the next scheduled ChapterMeeting or a majority of members participating in an electronic vote. All amendments and the current version of the By-laws shall be kept in the custody of the Secretary and shall be filed with the PMI Executive Office."
After great discussion, debate and an the move for an amended motion, the final wording for Section XIV Amendments to the By-Laws and now contained in the Chapter By Laws reads…
XIV – Amendments to the By-laws
"These By-laws and amendments to these By-laws must be ratified by 75% of the Chapter Board present at a scheduled Board meeting and must be ratified by a majority of the membership present at the next scheduled Chapter Meeting or a majority of members participating in an electronic vote. In the event of an electronic vote, that the By Law Amendments be presented at a Chapter Meeting one month prior to the to vote to allow for members to discuss and debate the proposed By-laws amendments. All amendments and the current version of the By-laws shall be kept in the custody of the Secretary and shall be filed with the PMI Executive Office."
